Check eligibility first
The official points-tested stream requires being under 45 when invited and nominating an occupation on the relevant eligible list. Skills assessment evidence must fit the nominated occupation. An Indian degree or software title does not establish that all applicants share one assessment category.
A score is not a prediction
The published framework uses a 65-point minimum, but an invitation may specify a higher score. The former “typical 80–90” range is not a reliable prediction for your occupation or round. Keep evidence for each claim and resolve uncertainties before relying on the total.
Prepare the document sequence
Identify the relevant assessing authority and organise the qualifications and employment records its current checklist requires. Keep dates and duties consistent. Read the official English evidence instructions before selecting a test. Fees and processing times need the assessor’s own current information rather than a generic price copied across professions.
After an invitation
Read the invitation and application instructions, including the points that must be substantiated. Keep the assessment and language evidence available. Avoid non-refundable relocation commitments based on an EOI alone. This article does not predict selection, certify a qualification or quote your full application cost.

Does 65 points guarantee selection?
No. The official invitation guidance permits a higher invitation score.
Is an EOI a visa grant?
No. Invitation and the visa application are distinct steps.
