Can family accompany? How long is the status granted and can it be renewed?

The remote worker's spouse and minor children may accompany. The visa allows a one-year stay, extendable one year at a time up to three years through the local immigration office in Korea. If the holder loses the job after entry, the stay cannot be extended further and the holder must leave when the permitted period expires.

What immigration-relevant tax/residence information is officially stated, and what longer-term residence direction exists?

The Embassy states that residents are taxed on all income, but short-term foreign residents (domicile or residence in Korea for not more than 5 years in total within the last 10 years) are taxed on foreign-source income only when paid in or remitted to Korea; double taxation treaty provisions may exempt relevant tax. The official source does not state a longer-term residence direction.
