What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?

A long-term visa for the purpose of tolerated stay under Section 33 of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., e.g. for a foreigner who cannot leave the country for reasons out of their control; valid only for the period strictly necessary, up to 1 year.

Besides foreigners unable to leave, it covers witnesses or injured parties whose participation in criminal proceedings is necessary; permanent-residence applicants whose permit expired before a decision; and foreigners who sued against revocation or refusal of a residence permit and requested suspensive effect.

What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

Holders under Section 33(1a) must, on request, prove the obstacle to leaving still exists (or give a solemn declaration); the visa expires when the holder leaves the Schengen Area. The official source does not state family handling, support or work rights.

The validity of a visa for a stay longer than 90 days for the purpose of tolerated stay expires when the holder leaves the Schengen Area.

upon the Ministry’s request, you must prove that the reason preventing you from leaving the country still exists. If you cannot prove that for reasons out of your control, you can provide a solemn declaration signed by you instead.
