What exact status does accumulated residence lead to?

What qualifying residence period is required and when does the period begin?

The rule requires two consecutive qualifying work-type residence permits. Beijing Public Security implementation of the national measures says each is for one year or more; the NIA English guide says more than one year. Exact one-year permits should be checked with the accepting authority rather than excluded solely by that translation.

What other major conditions apply, how is the status obtained, and what renewal, document-validity, retention or loss rules matter?

Apply to the local public-security exit-entry authority for the third work-type residence permit with current work permission and purpose evidence. Beijing Public Security national-measures implementation expressly permits five-year validity; the older NIA English phrase less than five years should not be used to rule out the five-year grant. Renewal remains subject to continuing grounds and application 30 days before expiry. The result is temporary work residence, not permanent residence.
