Is this for a founder, startup entrepreneur, self-employed person, freelancer, company owner or another business profile?

The Business Transient Visa (TR-N) is for merchants, executives, company/industry representatives and micro-entrepreneurs, non-migrants, entering Venezuela to carry out commercial, mercantile, financial or other lawful profit-making business activity.

What must actually exist or be demonstrated: business plan, company, innovation, clients, contracts, economic activity, job creation or other substance?

The business purpose and Venezuelan contact must be identified in a letter from the applicant or the company funding the representative's trip. The MPPRE supporting list names commercial-registration and relevant chamber/association evidence. For an application in Barcelona, the consulate additionally requests a letter from the Venezuelan business counterparty describing the business and a copy of its RIF registration.

What investment, capital, income, revenue, funding or viability evidence is central to this pathway?

For applications lodged in Barcelona, financial evidence includes a bank statement showing the account opening date, number and balance, and a signed and stamped employer letter stating the applicant's position and salary and accepting responsibility for the stay in Venezuela. The official TR-N instructions do not establish a numeric minimum for capital, revenue or personal funds.

What business/self-employed activity may the holder conduct? Are there important restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The TR-N visa covers lawful commercial, mercantile, financial or other profit-making activity related to the visitor's business. The consulate expressly includes TR-N holders among those who may request a family-transient visa for a spouse, unemancipated children under 18, parents and parents-in-law, with proof of relationship and economic dependency. The official instructions do not establish unrestricted access to salaried employment or a separate work right for accompanying family members.

What approval/application sequence applies, how long is the status granted, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction is officially stated?

The Barcelona consulate states that the TR-N visa is valid for one year, allows multiple entries and permits a stay of up to 180 days; once that stay limit is exhausted, no extension to remain is granted. The source does not describe 180 days as a new allowance for each entry. For applications there, the applicant books an appointment, submits the general and specific documents, and receives an email after approval to collect the passport. The official instructions do not establish a further new-visa procedure or progression from TR-N to long-term residence.
