  • Not established: the correction failed a second independent check (DUPLICADA: Same category list (same citation text) as r2 WHO; restates the covered populations rather than a distinct trigger, so the material belongs to r2.)

What sponsor, authority, nomination, certification, evidence or other step must occur before the status can be obtained?

A letter of recommendation is needed from the authority matching the category: the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs (diplomatic representatives and their family), the relevant commissioner (Public Service, Police, Teaching or Judiciary) for government employees or secondees and their family, or the head of a donor agency meeting specific criteria (agency members and their family). The application is lodged with that authority, which assesses it and forwards a recommendation or request letter to Vanuatu Immigration & Passport Services. Applicants aged 18 or over must supply original police certificates from every country of 12 or more months' residence in the last 5 years and undergo a medical examination by a registered medical practitioner.
