Under which circumstances can the person reside: worker, self-employed, student, jobseeker, self-funded person or another recognised basis?

The basis is nationality: citizens of MERCOSUR Member States and Associated States have temporary-resident category when they request it. The DNM describes it as for any national of MERCOSUR States Parties and Associated States who wishes to settle in Uruguay for up to 2 years, extendable for the same period.
