What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?
The UAE is not party to the 1951 Refugee Convention or its 1967 Protocol. UNHCR's global guidance states that in some countries UNHCR itself may examine asylum applications, which occurs where a State is not a party to the 1951 Refugee Convention and/or does not have a fair and efficient national asylum procedure in place. The official source does not state a UAE-specific protection mechanism.
