Under the Law of Ukraine on Volunteering, volunteers may be reimbursed for travel expenses within Ukraine and abroad, subject to limits set for civil servants and employees of budget-funded enterprises, institutions and organisations; for meal expenses when volunteering lasts more than 4 hours per day; and for accommodation expenses when sent to another locality for volunteering lasting more than 8 hours. Such reimbursement is not considered volunteer income and is not subject to personal income tax or the unified social contribution.
