For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

Entry for a touristic visit depends on nationality: some applicants are exempt from a visa, others can obtain an e-Visa, and all other applicants need a visa through Turkish representations abroad.

What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

Entry: a stay under a visa or visa exemption cannot exceed 90 days within each 180 days. The short-term residence permit is issued for at most two years each time, except for the purposes listed as items 13 and 14, for which it is issued for up to five years.

What important funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence may be required?

The statement on matters concerning travel plans - where, when and how long to stay - of foreigners who wish to stay for tourism purposes is taken into consideration, and documents and information may have to be submitted if necessary. The general Article 32 conditions also apply. The Article 32 conditions for a short-term residence permit are: submit supporting information and documents regarding the reason of stay in Türkiye; not fall within the scope of Article 7 of the Law; live in accommodation conditions that conform to general health and safety standards; on request, present a criminal record certificate issued by the competent authorities of the country of citizenship or legal residence; and submit information on the address of stay in Türkiye.
