Which exceptional-talent, academic, scientific, artistic, technological, cultural or other profiles does the pathway target?

This is purpose 1 of the Turkish short-term residence permit: foreigners who will arrive to conduct scientific research. The purpose is defined by the research activity rather than by an exceptional talent, award or seniority profile. It is a residence permit under Articles 31-33 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458.

What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

A short-term residence permit is issued for a maximum two-year period each time, and is refused, cancelled or not renewed where one or more of its conditions are not met or no longer apply, where it is used outside its purpose, where there is a current removal decision or entry ban to Türkiye, or upon violation of the rules on periods lived outside Türkiye. The ordinary longer-term route is the long-term residence permit, issued by governorates upon approval of the Ministry to foreigners who have continuously resided in Türkiye for at least eight years on a permit; the full duration of non-student residence permits counts towards those eight years.
