Is this for a founder, startup entrepreneur, self-employed person, freelancer, company owner or another business profile?

This is purpose 3 of the Turkish short-term residence permit: foreigners who will establish business or commercial connections. It is defined by the business or commercial connection being established in Türkiye, not by a named business profile such as founder, startup entrepreneur or freelancer. It is a residence permit under Articles 31-33 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458, not a work permit.

A short-term residence permit is issued for a maximum two-year period each time. It is refused, cancelled or not renewed where one or more of its conditions are not met or no longer apply, where it is used outside its purpose, where there is a current removal decision or entry ban to Türkiye, or upon violation of the rules on periods lived outside Türkiye. A long-term residence permit is issued to foreigners who have continuously resided in Türkiye for at least eight years on a permit, with the full duration of non-student residence permits counting towards that period.
