Application is made to the Permanent Secretary on Form 6 and passed to the Minister; a registered resident receives a Form 7 certificate as proof. A resident keeps the right to be admitted while they remain a resident; status is lost after voluntarily living outside Trinidad and Tobago for a continuous year unless a ministerial exemption certificate is obtained.
