What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?

C-12 is a Residence Permit Class C subtype for a person who already has refugee status and also qualifies for a Class C residence-permit category. The page describes a residence permit, not the initial asylum or refugee-status determination.

See recorded sources

Which population, circumstances or geographic group does the mechanism cover?

The route covers a person with refugee status who qualifies for any Class C category. The source does not define how refugee status is obtained or which Class C eligibility categories may be combined with C-12.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • The source does not identify the authority or complete test for obtaining refugee status, or enumerate the Class C categories available to a C-12 applicant.

Where can protection be requested, and is this a direct application, border/in-country request, referral or other process?

The C-12 matrix does not say where an existing refugee applies or how refugee status is first recognised. The general Class C page says applications should normally be submitted before entry, except for retired persons and people winding up affairs, but does not explain how that instruction applies to an already-recognised refugee.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • The page does not reconcile the pre-entry instruction with an applicant already holding refugee status or describe an asylum/refugee-status application process.

What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm what happens after the request, including registration, family handling, support and rights.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • Family handling, interim support, asylum procedures and rights under C-12 are not set out in this permit guideline.

Which competent authority, UN body or official assistance channel should the person use?

The general permit page assigns issuance power to the Commissioner General of Immigration Service. The C-12 matrix itself does not identify the authority for deciding refugee status, a UN channel, or a C-12-specific assistance contact.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • The immigration permit authority is stated, but the competent refugee-status decision body and dedicated applicant assistance channel are not identified here.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
