How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

Where investment is at least USD 1,000,000 the C visa is issued for up to 5 years (Embassy in Berlin page); the Embassy in Washington page requires a cover letter from the company and a letter from the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, and states validity of no more than 2 years.

Limits of the record
  • Official embassy pages diverge on validity (Berlin: up to 3/5 years; Washington: max 2 years).
  • No information on family members' rights or independent/longer-term status.
