How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

Holders must apply to the National Immigration Agency for an Alien Resident Certificate within 30 days from the day after arrival (or within 30 days of issuance if the visa was issued in Taiwan); the duration of stay is noted on the ARC. Those who entered visa-free, with a landing visa or on a visitor visa not for religious work cannot apply for this resident visa or an extension on religious-work grounds. The official source does not state whether the holder may change host, whether family may accompany or the extension rules for holders.
