Which non-member-country family members can accompany or join, and what broad rights do they receive?
While the EU/EEA citizen meets the right-of-residence conditions, qualifying family members may live and work in Sweden without permits. Qualifying family members are spouses, cohabiting or registered partners; children under 21; financially dependent older children or parents of the person or their spouse/cohabiting partner; and other relatives who are dependent, household members, or require personal care because of serious health issues. Non-EU/EEA family members staying longer than three months must apply for a residence card.

If you have right of residence in Sweden, your family also has it. This means that your family members have the right to live and work in Sweden without permits, as long as you meet the requirements for right of residence.
Who is considered a family member?
The following are considered family members of a person with right of residence in Sweden:
spouse, cohabiting partner, or registered partner
children under 21 years of age
children over the age of 21, if they are financially dependent on the person with right of residence, or that person’s spouse or cohabiting partner
parents, if they are financially dependent on the person with right of residence, or that person’s spouse or cohabiting partner
another family member who is financially dependent on the person with the right of residence, is part of their household, or if the family member has serious health issues that mean that the person with right of residence must personally care for them.
If your family member is a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country and plan to be in Sweden for longer than three months, they need to apply for a residence card.
