What other major conditions apply, how is the status obtained, and what renewal, document-validity, retention or loss rules matter?

The permit is granted for a maximum of 2 years and can be extended; holders must file an extension application at the Loketdienst no later than three months before the stay expires. An application requires a petition to the Minister of Justice and Police, a SRD 1.50 stamp, a copy of the written passport pages, proof of means of subsistence and a deposit receipt of $150 (or the SRD equivalent). Status is lost if the validity expires without an extension application, the application is refused, or the permit is withdrawn (crime, public-order disruption, national-security threat or other acts in the Immigration Act).

Limits of the record
  • The captures do not state how many times the 2-year permit can be extended.
