Limits of the record
  • The cited mobility provision does not establish unrestricted employer changes, independent work or a distinct long-term residence route.

What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

For researcher mobility from another EU Member State, an entity established in that other Member State communicates the proposed move to Spain, and the researcher may stay during the validity of the research authorisation issued by that first State; that authorisation must cover the mobility period. The Directorate-General for Migration may give a reasoned objection within 30 days of complete notification, including if the first-State authorisation has expired.

Limits of the record
  • The cited mobility provision does not establish an independent Spanish renewal or a route-specific entitlement to long-term residence. The three-year initial period in Article 72(3) governs a Spanish research residence authorisation, not this incoming-mobility notification.
