- Age requirement
Law 14/2013 requires an adult applicant for a residence authorisation under its international-mobility section.
- Financial resources
The applicant must have sufficient resources for the applicant and accompanying family during residence.
- Job offer or appointment
A valid contract or firm offer for high-skilled employment lasting at least six months is required.
- Minimum salary
From the June 2026 update, gross annual salary must be at least EUR 41,356.36, or EUR 33,085.09 where the statutory reduced threshold applies.

The applicant needs at least three years of qualifying higher education or normally five years of equivalent relevant experience; ICT managers and professionals may use three relevant years within the preceding seven.
