What exactly is the official special programme/status and why does it exist?
A statutory deemed-permission status under the Entry Control Ordinance 2022: Schedule 2 Part A covers persons who have deemed permission to enter the Territories for work or work-related reasons, and the Government treats persons with deemed permission under section 9 as not requiring an Entry Permit. Government policy lists in this class: any person employed or engaged in the provision of goods or services for the purposes of the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
