Which family relationships qualify?

Spouses and children of Solomon Islands citizens are expressly included in the 2026 Family Relationship delivery policy and Form 8. Form 8 requires a child to be under 18 when applying and entry not to breach another person’s custody rights. The 2026 policy describes spouses, children or dependants of citizens; its scope paragraph also lists mother, father and sibling, and says the child age limit is 18 while children above 18 must use another category. A marriage, birth or adoption certificate is listed as relationship evidence. These broader dependant/parent/sibling references are recorded as policy wording, not an automatic entitlement for every relative.

Limits of the record
  • The policy’s broader relatives and its “18”/“above 18” age wording are not fully reconciled with Form 8’s spouse/child and under 18 test. The exact boundary at age 18 and conditions for parents/siblings remain unresolved.
