What exact activity, role or purpose qualifies?

Third-country nationals who will carry out volunteer work in Slovenia, or who have concluded a volunteer-work contract with an organisation implementing a volunteer programme, qualify.

What organisation, institution, religious body, charity, teacher or host must support the activity?

The host must be a volunteer organisation or an organisation implementing volunteer programmes; participation is also possible in volunteer-service projects within EU programmes supporting volunteer mobility.

What proves the placement, role, affiliation, experience or cultural/religious/voluntary activity?

Proof is a concluded volunteer-work agreement with a volunteer organisation or an organisation with a volunteer programme, or a certificate of participation as a volunteer in a volunteer-service project under an EU programme supporting volunteer mobility.

Can the person receive salary, pocket money, accommodation, meals or reimbursement? Can they undertake other work?

The applicant must have, for each month of stay, at least the basic amount of the minimum income; these means may also be proven with means provided by the volunteer organisation. The official source does not state whether a salary, pocket money, accommodation or meals may be received, or whether other work is allowed.

How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

The permit is issued for the duration of the volunteer work, up to a maximum of two years. If the agreement or project lasts longer than two years, the permit can be extended for up to two years, but not beyond the duration of the volunteer work or project participation. The official source does not state whether the host can be changed or family can accompany.
