How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

Type A/B family members (or authorised persons/organisations) file the form and evidence with the administrative unit; for type C the notifier sends an official notification before arrival. The researcher’s and family member’s applications are processed together if filed together. The permit is issued as a card ("družinski član raziskovalca", or "– mobilnost" for type B) for the validity of the researcher’s permit or the duration of mobility; afterwards the holder must leave or obtain another suitable permit in time. Work rights and a path to independent status are not stated.
