Can the holder change employer, work independently, establish a business or conduct other professional activity? What is the family position?

As an individualised pass, Tech.Pass lets holders take on multiple roles concurrently: start and operate one or more tech companies, be an employee of one or more Singapore-based companies, be a consultant or mentor or lecture in local institutes of higher learning, and be a director of one or more Singapore-based companies, without applying for different passes as they move between activities. Holders can sponsor a spouse, children and parents on a Dependant's Pass or Long-Term Visit Pass issued by MOM: legally married spouses and unmarried children under 21 (including adopted) get a DP; common-law spouses, unmarried handicapped children aged 21 and above, unmarried stepchildren under 21 and parents get an LTVP.

What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

From 28 January 2027 MOM/EDB will no longer accept new or renewal Tech.Pass applications; existing holders can remain on their pass until it expires and eligible holders can consider the new ONE Pass (AI and Tech) track, announced in March 2026 to replace Tech.Pass from January 2027, or other work passes. The pass is valid for 2 years initially and can be renewed only once, for another 2 years, with renewal applied for within 6 months of expiry. Renewal requires one of: at least S$270,000 assessable income per the latest IRAS Notice of Assessment; total annual business spending of at least S$100,000 plus employing at least 1 local PME or 3 LQS; or a Singapore business with a core digital/technology offering that secured more than US$10 million cumulative investment funding in the past 36 months and received funding from programme-recognised investment firms. After that, individuals may apply for other work passes (e.g. Employment Pass, Personalised Employment Pass, EntrePass) based on eligibility.
