What exact status does accumulated residence lead to?

This route leads to Singapore Permanent Residence (PR) for a foreign student.

Applicants aged 15 and above apply via ICA e-Service with their Singpass; those below 15 use the non-Singpass option. Fees: S$100 at submission; at completion S$20 Entry Permit, S$50 5-year Re-Entry Permit, S$50 Identity Card (all non-refundable). Processing takes up to 6 months if documents are in order (some take longer); successful applicants receive an In-Principle Approval and are granted PR once they fulfil the conditions. Male foreign students granted PR are liable for National Service (registration at 16 and a half, enlistment at the earliest opportunity upon reaching 18). A valid Re-Entry Permit is required to travel out and return as a PR.
