The Singapore citizen spouse sponsors the application via ICA e-Service using their own Singpass.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

ICA requires original documents with official translations per its LTVP document checklist; for the marriage this includes a marriage certificate (only for marriages not registered in Singapore), a separation deed, divorce certificates including the certificate of making interim judgment final, and a death certificate of a spouse from a previous marriage (only for deaths not registered in Singapore).

Before marriage, the couple can take the free Pre-Marriage LTVP Assessment (PMLA) for greater clarity on the chances of getting an LTVP. An LTVP application by a foreign spouse of a Singapore citizen takes up to 6 months to process, shortened to 6 weeks if the couple completed the PMLA before marriage. Renewal must be submitted at least 3 months before the current LTVP expires; the renewed LTVP is valid from the date of issuance and remaining validity is not carried forward.
