What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

ICA requires original documents with official translations per its LTVP document checklist; the checklist includes a birth certificate/household register (only for births not registered in Singapore), with a note "only when sponsoring parent".

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • The checklist's tick-marks did not survive text extraction; the note "only when sponsoring parent" is placed by column layout next to the birth-certificate row, so its exact attachment is not certain in the extracted text.
  • A separate ICA checklist for parents of minor citizens/PRs was not fetched.

What important financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance responsibilities apply?

The official source does not state financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance requirements for this pass. The fees are S$45 per application at submission and, at completion of formalities, S$60 for issuance of the Long-Term Visit Pass and S$30 for a Multiple Journey Visa if applicable; all fees are non-refundable.

How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

All persons added as applicants must review the application form and give their declarations by logging in to ICA e-Service with Singpass (or ICA-provided credentials if ineligible for Singpass) before submission. Most applications are processed within 6 weeks if all required documents are in order. Renewal must be submitted at least 3 months before the current LTVP expires; the renewed LTVP is valid from the date of issuance and remaining validity is not carried forward. The official source does not state the LTVP validity period, the holder's rights or any path to longer-term status.
