What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

A spouse of a Serbian citizen provides a marriage certificate; a spouse of a foreign resident or asylee provides a document on the existence of the marriage union under the law of the country where it was concluded, translated by a certified court interpreter. An extramarital union requires proof of the applicant's and the partner's unmarried status and evidence of the union (partners' statements and certified statements of two witnesses, evidence of a common address, an extract from the register of extramarital unions, etc.). A family member provides a birth certificate with a certified translation; for someone exceptionally considered immediate family, evidence of lack of adequate family care in the country of origin or inability to meet their needs due to health is required. Where the sponsor has asylum, a copy of the asylum decision and of the ID card is required.
