What medical treatment/purpose does the route cover and which applicant role does it address: patient, donor or another medical purpose?

This route covers two bases: medical treatment of the applicant (supported by a letter from a registered Serbian health care institution stating the place of treatment and the need for continuous treatment for a certain period) and care (accommodation in a registered social care institution, with a letter from that institution and its work licence).

What acceptance, appointment, referral, treatment plan or healthcare-provider documentation is important?

For medical treatment, the required documents are an excerpt from the registry of a health care institution in the Republic of Serbia and a letter by a health care institution stating the place of medical treatment and the need for continuous treatment for a certain period of time. The official source does not state the provider documentation for the care branch.

How long can the patient stay, what happens if treatment continues longer, and what official extension or follow-up mechanism exists?

Temporary residence is granted from the date the request is submitted for a maximum of up to three years. If the person still intends to stay on the approved basis, an extension request should be submitted no sooner than three months before and no later than the expiry of the temporary residence; a timely request allows the person to stay in Serbia until the administrative procedure is completed, and an extension runs from the first day after the previous permit expires.
