Single Permit — Training and Professional Development

If you have completed appropriate education and pursue specialization, professional development, professional practice, internship, training in the Republic of Serbia during which you are paid for your work by employers in the Republic of Serbia.

diploma, certificate, i.e. other document on the appropriate type and level of the required professional qualification, i.e. education and a certified translation thereof;

concluded contract on training, internship, professional practice, work practice, professional training, i.e. development, which must include the place and duration;</li> <li>registration certificate of the employer from the Republic of Serbia that organizes training/internship/qualification programmes;

A foreigner who has been issued a unique permit for temporary residence and work can change employers during the validity of the permit, with prior approval from the relevant employment organization.

A foreign national shall stay in the Republic of Serbia in compliance with the purpose for which the temporary residency has been approved.

Family reunification– marriage to a foreign national with either a single permit or granted temporary residency on the grounds of employment

Adults who have an approved residence permit on the basis of family reunification with an adult foreign citizen automatically get the right to work in the Republic of Serbia.

If a foreign citizen needs a visa to enter Serbia, then they need to apply for a Visa D on the basis of employment. If a foreign citizen is able to come to Serbia without a visa, then upon arrival in Serbia, they have the opportunity to apply for a single work and residence permit that is issued for a period of 36 months.

A work visa is actually a visa D issued for the purpose of employment. This visa allows you to stay and work in Serbia for a maximum period of 180 days. If you wish to stay longer and continue with the same employment, you must apply for a single temporary residence and work permit.

The term of validity of the single permit is also three years.

The request for extension of temporary residence can be submitted until the expiration date of the previously valid temporary residence permit. The same norm is prescribed for the extension of a single permit.

You can apply for permanent residence after three years of continuous residence in the Republic of Serbia on the grounds of approved temporary residence or approved temporary residence and work (single permit) .
