Which exceptional-talent, academic, scientific, artistic, technological, cultural or other profiles does the pathway target?

The Gifted Premium Residency targets talents and specialists in the sports, cultural and artistic fields.

What achievements, recognition, awards, publications, reputation or other evidence establishes the required level?

The required level is shown by either nomination for, or winning, one of the specified exceptional awards, or meeting the minimum of the eligibility-criteria list approved by the culture and sports system; the applicant must also pass the minimum financial-solvency threshold (to cover living costs in Saudi Arabia).

Is an employer, nominator, recognised body, peer group or government endorsement required?

Yes: a recommendation from the culture system or the Ministry of Sport, depending on the applicant's field; the Premium Residency Center coordinates with the Ministries of Sport and Culture to obtain the letter on the applicant's behalf.

Can the holder change employer, work independently, establish a business or conduct other professional activity? What is the family position?

Holder may move freely between establishments, conduct commercial business under the Investment Law, and is exempt from the Nitaqat programme. Family members who may reside with the holder: parents, spouses and children under 25. The spouse and children may work in private-sector establishments and move between them.

What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

Limited residence is granted for 5 years, renewable once when eligibility criteria are met and the holder has resided 30 months within 5 years (consecutive or not); permanent residence follows when criteria continue to be met, the 30-month residence within 5 years is satisfied, and a recommendation is obtained from the competent authority (Ministry of Culture or Ministry of Sport).
