Where/how is permission obtained when required, and under what important circumstances can a stay be extended or changed?

The eTA is applied for only through the official website or the official 'St. Kitts and Nevis Travel Authorization' mobile application, separately for each traveller, and travel is allowed only after approval. A traveller who did not apply in advance can apply on arrival but must pay the expedited processing fee. The eTA is only permission to travel: immigration officials at the port of entry decide admission and the length of stay. If trip dates change, a valid eTA can be updated through the portal's live chat. The official source does not state how a stay can be extended once in the country.
