Which family relationships qualify?

The Ministry of Interior lists these family categories as exempted from the permanent-residency conditions and requirements of Law No. 10 of 2018: children of a Qatari woman married to a non-Qatari; the non-Qatari husband of a Qatari woman; the non-Qatari wife of a Qatari; and children of a Qatari by naturalization.

Applications are submitted online on the Ministry of Interior website using an activated smart ID card and card reader; the applicant later uploads documents when requested and can follow up online. The card is granted to the applicant and family members under 18; holders may enter and exit Qatar during its validity without permission, access government treatment and education, invest in designated sectors without a Qatari partner and own real estate in specified areas; the spouse and children until 18 enjoy the holder's residence, health and education privileges. Investment in the activities of the sectors of the national economy, which shall be determined by a decision of the Council of Ministers without a Qatari partner, provided that the company is established in accordance with the provisions of the law governing the commercial companies. 5. Ownership of real estate for housing and investment in the areas specified, in accordance with the conditions and controls to be determined by a decision of the Council of Ministers
