Limits of the record
  • The implementing regulation (art. 58 items 2-3, Arabic, cited) conditions the salary threshold: for government/semi-government employees a family housing or family housing allowance from the employer is required with total monthly salary not below ten thousand riyals; for other employers the salary must not be below ten thousand riyals, or not below six thousand riyals if the employer provides family housing, as fixed in the employment contract. The Hukoomi QR10,000 figure is therefore not the only threshold.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

Authenticated marriage and birth certificates, plus a no-objection letter and salary certificate from the employer.

How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

Each family member, including infants, needs an individual Family Residence Visa, issued for 1-5 years and stamped in the passport. A wife on family sponsorship may register to work with her husband's approval without a separate work permit; a husband sponsored by his expatriate wife may work only after transferring his residence to his employer. The official source does not state a path to independent or longer-term status.
