The applicant submits a declaration to acquire Portuguese nationality, signed before registry staff when filing or with a recognised signature if sent by post to the Conservatória dos Registos Centrais. It can be filed online through a representative (lawyer or solicitor), otherwise in person at the listed registry offices or the Portuguese consulate for the area of residence, or by post.
