What application progression, residence obligations, family consequences or further citizenship/residence possibilities follow?

The applicant submits a declaration to acquire Portuguese nationality, signed before registry staff when filing or with a recognised signature if sent by post to the Conservatória dos Registos Centrais. The request can be made online through a representative (lawyer or solicitor), otherwise in person at the listed registry offices or the Portuguese consulate for the area of residence, or by post. The request costs 250 euros. The official source does not state any residence obligations, family consequences or further possibilities that follow the grant of nationality.
