Evidence required includes a valid passport, a declaration of address, proof of means of subsistence through an employment contract or promise, a services contract or a declaration of start of self-employed activity issued by the Tax Authority, a criminal record, and proof of meeting Article 18(2) of the Schengen Implementing Convention (long-stay visas valid up to one year must be replaced by a residence permit before expiry for longer stays).
