For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

Tourist status is granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (visa); for nationals of countries with which Peru has tourist-visa waiver agreements, Migraciones grants it at the border control post, where visa-exempt travellers present themselves directly.

What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

The stay is up to 183 consecutive days, or periods adding up to 183 days within one year counted from first entry; it is not extendable and allows multiple entries. A visa is valid for six months from issue and, after first entry, for the approved stay.

What important funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence may be required?
