What exact activity, role or purpose qualifies?

Religious or pastoral activities in an organisation or congregation registered or recognised by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights or the Peruvian State, for members of a State-recognised religious institution; complementary activities such as education and health are allowed.

What organisation, institution, religious body, charity, teacher or host must support the activity?

A religious entity recognised by the Peruvian State, registered or recognised by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, which the applicant joins and which files the request through its legal representative.

What proves the placement, role, affiliation, experience or cultural/religious/voluntary activity?

A request from the State-recognised religious entity signed by its legal representative stating the beneficiary's name and length of stay, plus a sworn statement by that representative giving the registry entry showing representation powers.

Can the person receive salary, pocket money, accommodation, meals or reimbursement? Can they undertake other work?

The status does not allow work or remunerated/lucrative activity unless Migraciones first issues an Extraordinary Work Permit; for Religious holders that permit is granted for the approved residence period and allows work in health and education. The official source does not state whether a stipend, accommodation or meals may be received.

How long can they stay, can they change host/activity, can family accompany, and can the status be extended?

Granted for 365 days, extendable for the same period. Religious holders may opt to change to Permanent after 3 consecutive years of residence. Family members of a resident may opt for resident or another status if they meet its requirements; the holder's status does not extend automatically. The official source does not state whether the holder may change host organisation.
