What absence/continuity rules affect accumulation of the qualifying residence period?

During the 3 consecutive years the applicant must not have been outside Peru for more than 183 consecutive calendar days within 365 calendar days, unless holding an authorisation to stay abroad. For family members, justified absences do not break the 3-year count if the family link persists.

No criminal record; worker, investor and researcher applicants must show minimum economic solvency of S/ 55,000.00 gross annual income in the prior tax year (investors also payroll showing ten jobs for Peruvians). Apply online to Migraciones (fee S/ 162.50, result within 30 business days). Permanent residence is indefinite, but the foreigner ID card must be renewed every 5 years (every 3 years for minors). Permanent status is lost after an absence of more than 365 consecutive days, unless an authorisation to stay abroad is obtained for emergency or force majeure.
