Limits of the record
  • Searched the transitory-stay extension page (ffea83aa42ba4cf6, 21fd42ceeb731812) and Law 6984/22 for baggage collection, terminal change, separate tickets or self-transfer; nothing found.

What maximum transit period, overnight, airport-change or multiple-stop rules matter?

Under Migration Law Arts. 40 and 42, local border transit (tránsito vecinal fronterizo) is a transitory-stay subcategory; transitory-stay admissions allow a stay determined by the nature of entry, up to a maximum of 90 calendar days, extendable once at the person's request for a period no longer than that previously granted, at the DNM's discretion. The official source does not state overnight, airport-change or multiple-stop rules.

Limits of the record
  • No official rule found on overnight stays, crossing frequency or multiple stops; DNM separately issues a DTVF border-transit document (5-year validity) for MERCOSUR nationals domiciled in linked Brazilian border towns, not used here.

If permission is required, what permission is it, where/how is it obtained, and what core onward-travel evidence is required?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the permission required, where to obtain it and the onward-travel evidence.

Limits of the record
  • Not established: the correction failed a second independent check (NAO_SUSTENTA: Citations prove the generic transitory-stay extension procedure, but no citation says that is the permission for local border transit; the captured DNM page lists a separate 'Documento de Transito Vecinal Fronterizo (DTVF)' procedure, so 'The permission is an extension' misidentifies the permission.)

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
