Which population, circumstances or geographic group does the mechanism cover?

It covers children under 18 years of age who are not married or cohabiting, whose parent holds a residence permit on the basis of having been subjected to abuse. Adopted children are covered if the adoption is valid in the home country and, where it took place after an adoptive parent moved to Norway, approved by the Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs.
