What sponsor, authority, nomination, certification, evidence or other step must occur before the status can be obtained?

Before the visa is granted the applicant must provide evidence supporting the express purpose (for example an invitation to the event, an offer of a place at an education provider, or medical treatment schedules or confirmation), must have enough money to live on or an acceptable sponsor, and must show plans to leave New Zealand at the end of the stay.
