Who may sponsor or bring the family member, and what immigration/citizenship status must that person hold?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm who may sponsor the family member and the status the sponsor must hold.

Limits of the record
  • Searched the whole page for who sponsors or brings the family member and the status required; the page only gives the family-situation heading (already cited in the protected R1 answer) and states no sponsor role or status rule.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the evidence needed to prove the family relationship.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • Searched for how the relationship (parentage) is proven; the page only links a 'Vie privée et familiale' document-list PDF, which is not among the captured extractions.

What important financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance responsibilities apply?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance requirements.

Limits of the record
  • Searched for financial, accommodation, insurance or maintenance obligations for the family route; the page states resources/insurance only for Visitor and Trainee stays, nothing for this family route.

How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

A temporary residence card is issued for one year, renewable twice for the same reason. After 3 years of stay in New Caledonia, the parent may apply for a 10-year resident card; issuance of the resident card is subject to effective republican integration, notably sufficient knowledge of French assessed in a language interview. Titles issued for family reasons allow professional activity within the applicable rules. A permanent resident card may be issued from the first renewal application of the resident card.

Limits of the record
  • The possible multi-year card after one year of stay is in the same passage but inside the protected R1 citation, so it is not restated here.
  • The page does not state whether the status stays tied to the parent-child link or becomes independent.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
