What investment option or options qualify?

Qualifying investment is investment in business of Myanmar in accordance with the Foreign Investment Laws; the applicant must be able to invest in accordance with laws related to foreign investment if investing in productions and services.

What official minimum amount, tier or threshold applies to each relevant option?

No numeric minimum investment amount is stated; the applicant must submit an official document showing possession of an amount of money equivalent to the volume of investment. Government fees are separate from the investment: a non-returnable initial application fee of US$500, then US$1000 per annum for a foreigner or US$500 per annum for an ex-Myanmar citizen.

How long must the investment be maintained and what continuing ownership, investment or physical-presence conditions are important?

The holder must register the certificate term in person once a year within 30 days of completing each year, submitting among other documents a document permitting continued business operation from the relevant department and, for investors, a tax exemption certificate and valid, unexpired company registration. Permission must be obtained to reside abroad for one year or more consecutively within the five-year term.

Which family members can be included where officially stated, and what broad residence/work rights result?

The holder has the right to operate economic business in the businesses permitted to them under existing laws related to foreign investment. Legal spouse, legal parents and legal offspring may be entered into the holder's household member list and may reside with a visa, without the right to settle, renewing the visa if they do not themselves hold permanent residence.
