Which travellers require a transit visa/permission and which officially documented exemptions are important?
As a general principle, anyone who is not a Mozambican citizen must have a visa to enter Mozambique; visa exemption for all passport types applies to South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius (Mauricias), Swaziland (Swazilândia), Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. For a transit visa, a visa for the final destination is required unless that is the applicant's country of origin or residence.
