How does the application work at a high level, what rights does the family member receive, how long does the status last, and how can it become independent or longer-term where officially stated?

Entry visas are obtained at Mozambican diplomatic and consular missions abroad, at authorised border posts, at the Migration Services or at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. Via the Washington embassy, the applicant emails one PDF per applicant to visa.usa@embamoc.gov.mz; review may take up to 1-2 weeks as the file is forwarded to Immigration in Mozambique. Visas are single entry (30 days) or multiple entry (90 days) and must be used within sixty (60) days from the issuance date.
