Applicants must have a monthly income of 5 times the Mongolian minimum wage and an undergraduate or graduate degree or specialisation in an essential major in Mongolia, must have no criminal history and must never have been deported or banned from entering Mongolia. Documents include a three-generation biography, a police criminal record from the country of origin, a health reference (mental health, communicable disease, HIV), proof of sufficient funding and a diploma with official translation. The application is made within 21 days after entry, first-time applicants register biometrics in person, standard processing takes 60 days and the fee is 135.000₮. The agency may cancel the immigrant permit if the holder stayed abroad more than 180 days in one year, the holder must notify 72 hours before leaving the country, and a refused applicant may re-apply after 1 year.
