A spouse of a Monegasque national can obtain a dedicated permit; for other applicants, a close relative, spouse or partner with whom the applicant lives as a couple can provide accommodation or financial support.

Who may sponsor or bring the family member, and what immigration/citizenship status must that person hold?

A Monegasque national's foreign spouse qualifies for the spouse permit after at least one year living in Monaco; otherwise the supporting person is a third party (relative, spouse or partner) or, on renewal, another resident, who must document their own financial resources and, if lodging the applicant, their Monegasque residence permit or national identity card.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?

Documents not in French, English or Italian require a translation.
